What is it made of?
Corian and all of the other
solid surface countertops are a
mixture of a natural mineral
Aluminum Tri-Hydrate (which in
it's natural state is similar to
chalk) that is the filler and
50% acrylic resin as the binder.
Silestone, on the other hand, is
made up of 93% Quartz crystals
and 7% acrylic resin. The
hardest part of natural Granite
is Quartz - which typically
makes up 20% - 30% with the
balance made up of Feldspar and
other misc materials. This makes
Silestone much stronger than
Granite so it can support it's
own weight up to 12: where
Granite is good up to 8"
unsupported.
Do i need sub tops?
No, we will supply all of the
necessary support for their
countertops.
How tall above the cabinets will
my countertops be?
1-1/2" for Corian, etc. and
1-1/4" (3CM) for Silestone and
Granite slab.
Can i get Vertical panels for
Tub or Shower Surrounds?
Yes, we recommend the 1/4" LG
Hi-Macs sheets because they have
the most colors available (50) -
Average Retail price =
$35-$40/SF
What about the Warranty?
Corian, Avonite, and Starton and
Silestone all have a ten year
warranty. LG Hi-Macs has a 15
year warranty and Granite slab
has a 1 year warranty.

Although Corian remains stable

to 212 F, high heat or flame
will damage Corian®. In most
cases this can be repaired. To
protect your Corian® from heat
damage, always use a heat pad or
a trivet with rubber feet when
using hot pots or heat -
generating appliances like
frying pans or electric cooking
pans.
